Anybody who has made the switch to eating organic food will tell you that they feel better and have a lot more energy. If you start feeding your dog organic dog food, then chances are that you will notice a similar effect. There is no question that the food your dog eats (or doesn’t eat) plays a major role in their overall health. Organic food gets rid of the things your dog doesn’t need such as additives, preservatives and pesticides and gives them the healthy things they need to thrive.

You will find that organic dog food is made with better ingredients. Your dog is like a member of the family, so it’s only natural that you would want to make sure that they have the best food possible. While every jurisdiction varies when it comes to labeling things as ‘organic’, most manufacturers do a good job of defining the term.

Organic Dog Food vs. Cheap Dog Food

To be fair, a lot of people are often surprised at the cost of organic dog food. However, what they should really be surprised at the cost of cheap dog food. Why? Because a lot of it is made of fillers fillers which don’t add anything in the way of nutrition. So, you may think you’re saving money, but in the long run you’re losing money…and short-changing your dog’s nutrition.

Organic dog food, on the other hand, is made up food and does have all of the useless extras found in cheap dog food. Don’t think of the organic stuff as expensive, but rather think of it as having more value. After all, would you rather get what you pay for, or would you rather throw your money away on cheap dog food? Which one does your pet deserve?

Another thing to consider is what’s known as bioavailability. That’s just a long word that refers to how much nutrition comes from food after it has been eaten. Cheap dog foods that are treated with chemicals, additives and preservatives can affect how much of it your dog actually makes use of. So, not only are they getting lower quality food with the cheap stuff, but they aren’t even getting all of the scant nutrition it claims to have.

Organic dog food has a much higher level of bioavailability, so that means your special pet will not only get a higher quality and healthier food, but they will also make full use of the nutrition it contains. All of this means that organic dog food is the better choice for anybody that cares about their dog.
